Liz Provencher, opened the doors of the business with the help of her three children and husband Ron in 1989. She had a fondness for antiques and incorporated them into the design of the salon using antique vanities for each styling station. This fondness for antiques is also what led to the business name, a pun incorporating the antique theme with the hair services offered (Hairloom instead of Heirloom) Liz passed away in 2021 but her family continues to carry on her legacy. The Family Hairloom is Conveniently located on the Barre-Montpelier Road (U.S. Route 302).
